Hi. Something a little different this week. Less tactical, more honest.
The 6-hour constraint
Between a fully mobile 10 month old (he’s literally trying to unplug my computer as we speak), a wife who works full-time, and the general reality of being a human with 2 business…I have about 6 focused hours a day to run everything. Monday through Thursday anyway.
Terra Notes. The note portfolio. The content. The land deals. All of it in 6 hours.
That sounds like a complaint. It's not. It's actually been one of the best forcing functions I've had.
When you have unlimited time, everything feels equally important. You can justify spending 90 minutes on something that didn't need 20. You can have meetings that should have been a Slack message. You can confuse activity with progress.
Six hours forces prioritization on me. Not aspirational, theoretical prioritization, real prioritization. Where does this hour actually go?
What I've figured out: most things that feel urgent aren't.
Most things that actually move the needle are boring and repeatable. And most decisions that take an hour to make don't need more than 10 minutes if you've already built the framework.
I'm not saying this is the optimal way to operate. I'd probably get more done with 10 clean hours. But I've learned to work within the constraint instead of fighting it. And it's made me sharper about what actually matters.
What I'm building toward
The long-term goal is pretty simple: Terra Notes to a place where it runs without me in every decision. Note portfolio generating enough monthly cash flow to make the wife’s day job optional. Acquire businesses in the real estate service sector that bring synergy to what I already have going.
None of that happens overnight. But it doesn't need to. It just needs to keep moving.
That's the thing about cash flow as a strategy - it doesn't require a liquidity event. I’m not chasing a big exit. I just need enough monthly income that one day, the entirety of expenses are covered (needs and wants), and then I can decide what happens next.
That's the version of wealth I'm building toward. A choice, not a specific number. Although I do have some in mind!
